Happy Friday!
One year ago today, Kevin Proposed to me in Colorado. I guess that makes it our "proposal-versary" today! So I basically had all the feels and heart eyes this morning as I finished up editing our Iceland engagement photos. This past year has been a fast-moving whirlwind of my business taking off, our wedding planning, road tripping to Cape May and Vermont together every other weekend, the list goes on. But really, nothing has changed. I had Kevin by my side and that is all I will ever need or want.
One of the highlights of the past year was taking a photographer friend with us to Iceland for our engagement photos! April joined us for two days while we stayed in the rural area of Vik, Iceland. We stopped at Diamond Beach, Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach to explore and grab some epic destination engagement photos. And yes, it was every ounce of worth it!
Our wedding planning has had it's crazy, exciting, adventurous, confusing and testing moments but we are so glad it is coming together how it is and continues to make us fonder and fonder of each other as it nears. We already pretend call each other "hubby" and "wifey" lol. I found my wedding dress yesterday after a day in NYC with my mom and Bri. We stopped at Black Tap Burger and got a highly-anticipated Crazy Cake Shake to celebrate after! It's starting to feel really REAL now!
With a year out now we have a clear vision of our weekend wedding and it is more exciting than ever! Our dream was to have a super intimate, non-traditional wedding experience and it turned into a weekend of camping at Camp Dark Waters with our closest friends and family. We will be staying in cabins and hanging by bonfires every night. Friday is check-in with activities like volleyball, canoeing and a tree rope course. Saturday will be the wedding day we've been dreaming of -- a forest ceremony and starry open-air reception.
