Last summer Sara teamed up with her wedding planner, Britt of Everlemon Events to create this coastal micro wedding at The Seafarer Bar in Highlands, NJ! Both Sara and Britt knew of the venue before and had been dying to transform it into an intimate wedding setting for the owners. After we heard that the owners were down to host events in a new private space, which they had just sand-scaped out, we went to planning. Our goal for this shoot was to show couples that even amid the current state of the world right now, you can still have a beautiful, open air wedding that does not lack on all of the details and hopes you had for your original wedding plans. Anyone can create a jaw-dropping wedding if they think BIG, but on a smaller scale and in an more non-traditional way!
This oceanfront bar is super unique and has a very modern quirky, fun-in-the-sun type vibe to it so we wanted to bring those vibes into this shoot with lots of tropical palm, fresh coconuts, boho décor, a topless Ford Bronco from Gas Monkey Garage, flowing drinks, and a BBQ food truck! Looking back, it totally felt like we were in Tulum, Mexico at a beach bar! A literal DREAM.
Our favorite parts of the day were definitely getting ready on the bar owner's boat, our photo booth set up that was actually re-purposed from the ceremony arbor, jumping in the Ford Bronco and the first dance with a live band at the end in front of all of the guests!
