Today is the day!
We're FINALLY sharing all the fun and unique, non-traditional details from Sara + Kevin's Camp Wedding Weekend and Vow Renewal! It was super important to Sara and Kevin that they kept everything really intimate and laid-back, so on Friday 25 guests stayed overnight at the campground in cabins, followed by 70 guests on Saturday for the wedding festivities. The whole weekend was full of camp activities, including archery, the big swing, treetop climbing, canoeing, campfires, and cafeteria dinners/brunch. They said it felt like they were just kids in love running around summer camp together with their friends... so in other words, a FREAKIN' blast!

Sara designed and branded everything for the wedding herself, from all of the stationary items, to custom can koozies, favors, and décor! Through this experience, we realized our passion for event branding and were inspired to launch a new business together, called With Love, By Fitz Co. Since Sara and Kevin eloped at Acadia National Park in 2020, Sara wanted something fun and different from her original dress, so she flew out to Natalie Wynn's studio in Salt Lake City and had her star dress custom built on her. On the day of the vow-renewal, Sara's MIL sewed a piece of our mom's wedding dress inside both of her dresses too!
Reese was included in the entire wedding weekend and she even had a dog-safe floral collar to wear on Saturday!
First Look + Portraits
Rose, from Flower Peach Floral, created absolutely STUNNING floral displays all throughout the campground. Sara's favorites were the A-frame ceremony arch and the photo booth arrangement! Not to mention, her bridal bouquet was a total showstopper!
Want to know the secret behind Sara's hat game? Gigi Pip! Sara wore a cream-colored felt Gigi Pip hat both at her elopement and on her wedding day.
Sara's bridesmaids also wore Gigi Pip hats to top off their matching tulle dresses in different shades of blue and green!
Sibling-in-Law Rivalry?! Bri and John took their MOH/BM duties very seriously... all's fair in love and war! Just wait till the speeches!
Ceremony
Megan from Rustic Drift rentals created a boho, campy ceremony space with their A-frame arch and blue Persian rugs. Florals by Flower Peach Floral.
Sara and Kevin had a lot of fun with their personal vows and both added an unexpected twist! Sara presented Kevin with custom t-shirts and beers to toss out to guests, while Kevin surprised Sara by "icing" her with warm Smirnoff Ice! Yum.
Sara and Kevin had their guests throw biodegradable confetti all throughout the day, from their first kiss to their reception intro. It makes for super cool and unique photos!
Newlywed Sunset Portraits
Cocktail Hour + Reception
It was super important to Sara and Kevin that they kept everything outside, in the open air. At their reception, they had market lights strung up, creating a dreamy night-time atmosphere, while also taking full advantage of the golden sunset lighting.
Their event planner, Britt of Everlemon Events, had such incredible attention to detail and created custom décor pieces using Sara's branding package. Sara's favorites were the repurposed custom wall used for the cabin assignments on Friday and the seating chart using clipboards on Saturday to fit the camp vibe! She also LOVED all of the custom-felt banners Britt made from scratch.
In addition to the camp theme, Sara really wanted to create a celestial, starry night vibe, so golden 4D stars hung from the trees and they went with different shades of blue for the color scheme.
For cocktail hour, Rustic Drift brought in pub-style tables, a chevron bar, and a customized beer tap wall! At the chevron bar, Sara and Kevin's friend, Brett, was serving up drinks that he created specially for their wedding. Sara even gave them funny, mildly innapropiate, names!

At the reception, Baby Blues BBQ served up delicious barbequed meats and sides on metal camp trays. They even custom-made an Alabama white BBQ sauce for Sara & Kevin! We're honestly still dreaming about it to this very day...
As we mentioned earlier, Bri and John took their duties very seriously and delivered hilarious speeches, honey-roast style #WinstonBishop! John reminisced about a stinky plane ride with Sara, while Bri brought out a 3-ring binder with Kevin's face on it. But don't worry, Sara and Kevin were laughing their asses off and loved every second of it!
The Life Story of Mr. Pickle
Our mom and step-dad shared a funny story and photo slide show after speeches. Every year in LBI we visit our family friends for a week on the beach. This is actually where Kevin and Sara first said “I love you” to each other all of those moons ago. One year, Sara won a stuffed Mr. Pickle plush for Kevin and it quickly became the LBI Crew mascot, pranking Sara by sending Mr. Pickle up with the kites, into the ocean in a zip block bag, spinning from the ceiling fan, etc. The video was a photo story of Mr. Pickle meeting Mrs. Pinky Pickle and the family growing with a Little Pickle. It was amazing and hysterical!
The night couldn’t be complete without Mr. Pickle being the brunt of yet another prank. Sara’s step dad adhered Mr. Pickle to the tetherball pole for a quick round of laughs!
As the reception came to an end, they topped off the night with a giant beer shotgun contest! The final two got to face off with Kevin and the winner took home a handle of Old Camp Whiskey and the coveted Moose Trophy! #TheMooseIsLoose
We wanted to give a special round of applause to Sara and Kevin's photo and video teams, Casey Shannon Photo and Jay & Mack Films, for making everything about their weekend fun and carefree! They blended right into the party while still capturing it all like seasoned pros!
Sunday Brunch + Cake Cutting
On Sunday, their actual 1-year anniversary, Sara and Kevin's family and friends joined them back at Camp Dark Waters for brunch and cake inside the cafeteria!
