With the slower-paced winter months behind us and spring finally here, I wanted to share part one of Victoria and Ivan's epic camping engagement session! Yep, you heard that right! This is just the first half of their Delaware Water Gap engagement adventure; stayed tuned for part two, coming soon!
The premise of this session was born from my crazy idea to reneact the floating mattress scene from the movie, The Parent Trap...yeah you know the scene. The only catch was, we took out Meredith Blake and channeled steamy and intimate couples photos instead. When I pitched this idea to Victoria and Ivan, they were so down and put their complete trust in me.
So we started out their session on a campsite at Worthington State Forest Campground, where Victoria and Ivan got cozy in the tent and cracked open a few beers. I got to get really creative with bokeh effects using the tent walls and screens. It was such a vibe!
Now is where the summer camp romance vibes really hit. Victoria and Ivan carried the mattress out of the tent and over to the Delaware River access point nearby the campsite. The tree canopies were cloaked in the dreamiest warm glow, so they took a little cuddle break underneath the trees before heading into the river.
And now, the moment we've all been waiting for... the floating mattress scene of our dreams! When I first crafted this idea in my head, knew that this was going to look epic, but seeing it pan out in real life was honestly surreal in the best way. I mean, what's more romantic than lazily floating along a river with your love on an actual "water bed"?
I am so beyond grateful for couples like Victoria and Ivan. They were so open to hearing my ideas for this session and totally embraced the vision! It means the world to me that they completely trusted me to capture this unique moment that celebrates both their love story, as well as their joined love of the outdoors!
