Dennis and Dorian's summer wedding at The Refinery at Perona Farms, was a modern boho dream! They worked with our incredibly talented florist friends, Jamie and Meg, of Sea Blossoms to create an eclectic, palm and terracotta ceremony space. They included lots of peach florals and boho vibes using macrame art and pampas grass.
The Refinery is quickly becoming one of my favorite New Jersey wedding venues thanks to the versatility of their spaces. The venue features modern industrial interiors with white-washed red brick and jaw-dropping walls of greenery. My favorite detail in the ceremony space though, is hands-down, the garage door-style retractable glass roof! Not only does the glass roof allow lots of light in, but you also have the option to open or close the retractable section depending on your preference or the weather. You're basically guaranteed to have incredible, even lighting for your photos, no matter what time of day or the elements.
Before their ceremony, we used the reception space for Dennis and Dorian's first look. It was blazing hot hot out so the couple opted to wait until sunset to use the outdoor locations. Inside the reception space, the neutral-toned brick façades are complimented by black-trimmed, arched windows, which gives this space a modern, yet old-world industrial feel.
How freakin' epic is this shot with the retractable roof opened up as Dorian walks down the aisle!
While their guests were enjoying drinks and hors d'oeuvres in The Refinery's outdoor cocktail hour space (which features stunning Mediterranean-style landscaping and architecture), I headed to this nearby grove of trees with Dennis and Dorian for newlywed portraits.
