These two adventure loving cuties originally planned on getting married at The Chauncey Hotel and Garden Pavilion in Princeton, NJ, but like many things in 2020, their big day had to be reworked and relocated. After switching up their plans, Kaitlin and Mike opted to have a micro wedding in the backyard of Kaitlin's parents' lake house on Lake Hopatcong! The lake is such a special place to both Kaitlin and Mike because they spend so much time there in the summers so it was a perfect location to celebrate their marriage with their closest friends and family members.
After getting ready in the lake house, Kaitlin made her way down to their ceremony. They had a super cool wooden triangular wedding arch set up at the end of the dock where Mike was waiting. A fun and personal touch during the ceremony was when Kaitlin and Mike served tea to all of their guests in a tea ceremony. Having tea together is something that Kaitlin and Mike love doing everyday, so it was really special seeing them share this tradition with their guests too!
Following their ceremony, Kaitlin and Mike had their first dance on the dock, surrounded by the beautiful sparkling water and more of their guests who watched the wedding from aboard pontoon boats on the lake, which was so freakin' neat to see how everyone came together safely. For their portrait session, Kaitlin and Mike hopped into a cool vintage boat and took a sunset cruise around the lake before heading back to the lake house to have a catered dinner with their guests under a tent. Our favorite moment from the whole night though, was when these adventurers decided to jump into the lake in their wedding attire! It was the perfect way to end this incredible night!
